The Book of Psalms Psalm 14

Douay-Rheims · Challoner revision

Challoner’s heading

Domine, quis habitabit.

Psalm 14 in the Vulgate numbering this edition follows; Psalm 15 in the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles.

1A psalm for David. Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? or who shall rest in thy holy hill? 2He that walketh without blemish, and worketh justice: 3He that speaketh truth in his heart, who hath not used deceit in his tongue: Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours. 4In his sight the malignant is brought to nothing: but he glorifieth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his neighbour, and deceiveth not; 5He that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things, shall not be moved for ever.
Psalm 14 of 150

Text: the Douay-Rheims Bible in Bishop Challoner’s revision, public domain, from Project Gutenberg ebook 8300, set unaltered — 150 psalms and 2,528 verses, checked for gaps. Challoner’s own notes are left out, as in the gospels; the summary at the head of each psalm is his and is labelled as his. Psalms are numbered as in the Latin Vulgate, which differs by one from the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles for most of the book; each psalm gives both.
