The Book of Psalms Psalm 130

Douay-Rheims · Challoner revision

Challoner’s heading

Domine, none est.

Psalm 130 in the Vulgate numbering this edition follows; Psalm 131 in the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles.

1A gradual canticle of David. Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. 2If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul. 3Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.
Psalm 130 of 150

Text: the Douay-Rheims Bible in Bishop Challoner’s revision, public domain, from Project Gutenberg ebook 8300, set unaltered — 150 psalms and 2,528 verses, checked for gaps. Challoner’s own notes are left out, as in the gospels; the summary at the head of each psalm is his and is labelled as his. Psalms are numbered as in the Latin Vulgate, which differs by one from the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles for most of the book; each psalm gives both.
