The Book of Psalms Psalm 127

Douay-Rheims · Challoner revision

Challoner’s heading

Beati omnes.

Psalm 127 in the Vulgate numbering this edition follows; Psalm 128 in the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles.

1A gradual canticle. Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways. 2For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee. 3Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house. Thy children as olive plants, round about thy table. 4Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord. 5May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayst thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. 6And mayst thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.
Psalm 127 of 150

Text: the Douay-Rheims Bible in Bishop Challoner’s revision, public domain, from Project Gutenberg ebook 8300, set unaltered — 150 psalms and 2,528 verses, checked for gaps. Challoner’s own notes are left out, as in the gospels; the summary at the head of each psalm is his and is labelled as his. Psalms are numbered as in the Latin Vulgate, which differs by one from the Hebrew numbering of most modern Bibles for most of the book; each psalm gives both.
